K Line Thailand Hosts Meeting on Environmental and Sustainability Practices with Drive Green Network in Southeast Asia

“K” Line (Thailand) Ltd. hosted a meeting to discuss and review environmental and sustainability practices with “K” Line companies from across Southeast Asia. The meeting was held on September 26-27, 2023, at the KTL’s headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. Representatives from Drive Green Network (DGN1) member companies in Southeast Asia also attended the meeting.

The meeting was a subcommittee meeting for Southeast Asia, ahead of the Global Conference in November. The purpose of the meeting was to present environmental and sustainability issues and results from member countries, as well as to gather lessons learned, recommendations, and best practices for corporate sustainability.

In addition to the consultation meeting, there was a visit and study tour of KCST52, a general warehouse, and BCS33, a temperature-controlled warehouse, both newly opened in Thailand this year. Both warehouses are designed to promote energy efficiency, using natural light in the general warehouse and solar energy in the temperature-controlled warehouse.

K Line Thailand is committed to sustainable business practices that take into account the environment and society. The meeting was a good opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience on environmental and sustainability practices to build a network of collaboration to drive sustainable development in Southeast Asia.

Note 1: Drive Green Network (DGN) is an environmental initiative of the K Line Group that demonstrates its commitment to protecting the environment. It is a framework for promoting environmental management for the entire group under the leadership of the K Line Environmental Vision 2050, a long-term set of environmental management visions. The name “DRIVE GREEN NETWORK” reflects K Line’s desire to continue the legacy of building its next-generation, environmentally friendly flagship, DRIVE GREEN HIGHWAY, which was completed in 2016 under the concept of “Moving Forward to the Future.”

Note 2: KCST5 is a general warehouse managed by K Line Container Service (KCST), a K Line Group company. It has a total area of 10,638 square meters and is equipped with racking that is over 15 meters high. It can accommodate more than 7,600 pallets of goods. The warehouse will provide integrated services, including storage, distribution, packaging, and other related services.

Note 3: BCS3 is a temperature-controlled warehouse managed by Bangkok Cold Storage Services (BCS). It has a total storage area of 4,951 square meters, divided into 1,952 square meters for frozen goods and 2,999 square meters for chilled and temperature-controlled goods. The warehouse uses an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) to improve the speed of operations and increase storage capacity.
