BME Hosts Fuel Efficiency Yearly Reward 2024 Ceremony
October 31, 2024 – Bangkok Marine Enterprises Ltd., or BME proudly hosted the Fuel Efficiency Yearly Reward 2024 ceremony at its Bang Pakong office. The event was graced by Mr. Kiyoshi Tokonami, President & Managing Director of K Line (Thailand) Ltd., who presided over the ceremony. Joining him were Mr. Toru Otoda and Mr. Yuki Matsui, members of the executive team, who congratulated and presented awards to the selected employees.
As a leading domestic transportation operator, BME has fully implemented the Fuel Efficiency Improvement Project. The initiative aims to reduce fuel costs, enhance driving safety, decrease carbon dioxide emissions, and promote sustainable environmental practices. This project aligns with the current global challenges of climate change, such as extreme weather conditions, heavy rainfall, severe storms, and droughts, which have become national issues. These phenomena underscore the urgent need to address global warming and climate change, primarily driven by greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide from fuel combustion in the transportation sector.
BME is committed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and improving fuel consumption efficiency. The Fuel Efficiency Improvement Project includes monthly and yearly awards to recognize outstanding achievements. The prestigious awards include 10 First Prizes, 10 Second Prizes, and 50 Third Prizes. The criteria for the yearly awards are based on the top 70 drivers who have accumulated the highest monthly scores over 12 months.
