KTL Participates in DGN Asia Subcommittee Meeting in Indonesia
KTL Participates in DGN Asia Subcommittee Meeting in Indonesia and joins Beach Cleanup Activity.
From October 14-16, 2024, representatives from K Line (Thailand) participated in the 2024 Asia Subcommittee Conference on the Environment in Batam, Indonesia. The conference was hosted by K LINE PTE LTD and marked the second such meeting (the previous year’s was hosted by K Line Thailand).
This meeting was held under the auspices of Drive Green Network or DGN, a global environmental cooperation network of “K” Line Group with 43 member companies. This meeting invited representatives from 8 companies across 6 Asian countries to participate in reporting on their environmental activities. It also included updates on sustainability strategies, the DGN manual, a new charter, sustainable procurement supplier surveys, and discussions on environmental challenges and initiatives, such as renewable energy and greenhouse gas reduction.
In addition, attendees participated in activities with Seven Clean Seas, an organization dedicated to managing marine plastic waste. They visited a conveyor belt system designed to capture waste and joined a beach cleanup at Tanjung Uma Beach before observing the recycling process at a facility, including sorting, washing, crushing, and ultimately molding waste into bricks and roof tiles.
